THE PROPERTY

At the heart of the South, between Ardèche and Provence, among fields of lavender, olive trees, downy oaks, vines, and peach trees, is where you will find La Magnanerie en Provence. Admire the rolling hills and vibrant colors of this diverse agriculture, be reenergized by the surrounding nature and intoxicated by the entrancing smells of the flowers and the lavender filling your lungs. You are in the Drôme Provençale, at the sun’s door, and La Magnanerie en Provence promises you an authentic and unforgettable stay.
Part of a large family property, this Provencal farmhouse with a surface area of 180m2 (1940ft2), is a reconverted silkworm farm built in the 1650s, which was completely and tastefully renovated to be both modern respectful of traditions. With stone facades, exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, and stone staircases, all come subtly espouse its contemporary design. The property can house 12 people in 4 rooms, including a dormitory. The garden was carefully redesigned to include an inground pool where you will take pleasure in cooling down. The travertine terrace houses a living room and an exterior dining room, as well as a barbecue where, in the evening, you can enjoy cocktails with un unobstructed view of the landscape. La Magnanerie en Provence is a subtle marriage of tradition and modernity, simplicity and refinement, elegance and whimsy; a unique place to share experiences with family and friends to the sound of the cicadas.

The markets of Provence

Good cheer, fragrances, colorful stalls, and lively terraces are all part of the markets in Provence! Go and enjoy local products: olives and olive oil from Nyons, Nougat from Montélimar, Picodon from Dieulefit, Einkorn wheat from Haute-Provence, honey, “Les Baronnies” apricots, and many other fruits and vegetables saturated with the sun. Winter also offers Richerenches’ famous black truffle!
Perched villages

The majority of the perched villages in the Drôme Provençale are fortified and date back to the middle ages, the 11th and 12th centuries. They are typical of Provence. You will immediately be enthralled by the distinctive architecture of these villages with a medieval atmosphere, such as the old town of Sauzet, but also Montbrun-les-Bains, La Garde-Adhémar, or Le Poët-Laval

Comprised of twenty or so hiking paths, most notably the one that begins at the post office square of Sauzet where a 2-hour itinerary will introduce you to the marvels of the surrounding nature, there are abundant options to stretch your legs!
